Quick fixes.

A few common Penumbra and fitting questions, answered.

Why isn’t my mod showing?

Check every toggle included in the modpack. I often provide several options, including “Hide” options that intentionally remove a specific part. One of those may be enabled.

Why are body parts clipping?

I fit my work to the supported default body size, but custom Customize+ proportions, extreme poses, dances, and animations can behave differently. For skirts and dresses, adjusting skirt bones in Customize+ is recommended.

If your commission needs a fit far outside the default proportions, tell me before work begins and I can account for it.

Why does a body part disappear when I equip two items together?

This is usually a built-in gear hide setting. You can change it through Penumbra’s Advanced Editing:

  1. Open the mod that causes the body part to disappear.
  2. Open Advanced Editing, then Meta Manipulation.
  3. Select the affected body or gear part.
  4. Replace the default item number with the item number shown under Changed Items.
  5. Use the plus button to create an editable option.
  6. Remove the relevant hide setting, such as hide waist, knee, wrist, elbow, or shin.

How to verify my Discord profile.

Impersonators have tried to contact people using similar usernames. Before continuing, confirm all of the following:

  • The username is written exactly as @sternschaefchen.
  • The account has Discord Nitro and linked personal accounts such as PSN.
  • The profile may show my personal KATA tag from my private server.
  • Check the lettering and styling of my display name; near-matches are not me.
  • I normally do not request payment before the work is complete.
  • My accepted payment method is Ko-fi, with PayPal used only in rare cases.

  • You may use my work as the base for your own upscale, but you must credit me and link back to my work.
  • Do not distribute work based on mine as Discord-only content. Share it publicly or keep it private.
  • Do not repost my work anywhere without my explicit permission.
  • Do not use my work for minor or Lalafell NSFW content, QoS content, or hateful material.
  • Do not upscale my work to Eve or Kitten bodies, and do not upscale my NSFW work to Lalafell.

Commission terms

  • If a requested upscale is for a public mod and the original creator allows public upscales, I may release it later. Tell me before work begins if you would prefer it to remain private.
  • Vanilla gear upscales cannot remain permanently private. Sharing these meshes helps other creators avoid repeating especially time-intensive work.
  • Scope, price, supported sizes, and privacy expectations are agreed before work starts. Payment is due after completion and before delivery.

HOW TO MAKE SURE YOU´RE TALKING TO ME AND NOT TO A SCAM

☆ It was brought to my attention there are scammers trying to impersonate me. make sure you are talking to the right account!☆ I use Discord Nitro
☆ I have linked my personal accounts like PSN etc
☆I have a personal Tag called "KATA". It´s from my private personal server.
☆ Check the correct writing of my username! It´s sternschaefchen. NOT sternschaefcheny or similar
☆Scammers often neither have Discord Nitro nor Wishlists
☆ I will normally not ask for paying upfront!
☆ check the font I use in my Name
☆ I will never offer payment options other than my Ko-Fi and Paypal only in rare occasions.

"Your mod isn’t showing"Sometimes I receive questions like this. The solution is often simple: play with the toggles I provide in my modpacks! I usually include many toggleable options. Some of these toggles are "Hide Options," which—true to their name—will hide specific parts. Make sure to check them!😊"My butt/legs/other body parts are clipping"As a mod creator, I do my best to ensure my mods fit everyone. However, I cannot guarantee how they will work with your custom C+ or how they’ll behave in extreme poses, dances, or animations. For skirts, dresses, or similar clothing, I highly recommend adjusting your skirt bones in your C+. There’s only so much I can account for in my work.If you commission something from me and you’re using a C+ that differs significantly from the default body size, I’m happy to make adjustments— just let me know beforehand! 😊"Body parts disappear when I equip X with Y"If certain body parts (like hands, legs, or chest) disappear when trying out a new mod, check the Metamanipulation settings in Penumbra’s Advanced Editing.Sometimes, clothing with built-in hide options (added by SE to prevent clipping) can cause this issue. For mods, we usually don’t want these hide options enabled.Here’s how to fix it:
1. Open the mod causing the hidden body part.
2. Go to the Advanced Editing tab.
3. In the new window, find the Metamanipulation tab.
4. Select the dropdown for the body or gear part causing the issue (e.g., Body).
5. Next to it, there’s a field with a 1—replace this with the item number of your piece.
(You can find this in the Changed Items tab on the far right.)
6. Click the + button to create an editable option.
7. Look through the options and remove the one causing the issue (e.g., "hide legs/waist" to make your legs reappear).This method works for all body parts:
- For gloves, check for "hide elbow" or "hide wrist."
- For legs, check for "hide knee."
- For shoes, check for "hide shins."We always solve this issue the same way through Metamanipulation. 😊
